Still Like A KeyBoard
Loving the touchscreen and everything about the iPad. So the honeymoon continues. But like many geekaholics, I'm often working in bed, my knees and a pillow as my desk because, well, that's when some of my best inspiration comes to me: when I'm cozy and comfortable and the phone has stopped ringing. In those instances, when I'm doing a lot of typing, as I am right now, the touchscreen is a bit awkward, making me too slow, so much so, I get tired, and I quit. Which can be good because like anybody else, I do need sleep. But maybe I won't be getting much shut-eye now that I purchased the Logitech iPad Tablet Keyboard
.
It's just too easy to use. Plug and Play. (remember when they used to say things like that. Kinda like WYSIWYG?) Just adjusted my general settings on the iPad, and turned on the keyboard. Exactly like the review I read awhile back in the Wall Street Journal. The Logitech keyboard also comes with it's own very sleak, Apple-esque protective case, so that it, and the iPad can be popped in my purse whenever I am on the go. And I am on the go now. So good. So get it.

iPad Love
I went with the 16G, WiFi only, because, most of the time, I'll be working from home anyway. And the main thing I wanted it for, which is as a functioning, always-up-to-date portfolio, is usuable even if I don't have internet. This, by the way, is via a downloadable app that I am still playing with: KeyNote. And just about everything syncs with my iPhone. So cool.
I can check all my social media channels, post pictures, chat, do research, write new blog posts and even read a book-all in one easy-peasy, light weight package. Seriously: 1.33 lbs. It goes in my purse. And I swear it weighs less than my makeup bag. It doesn't replace my workhorse PC, but I am using the desktop a lot less, thus being green in between those heady hours at the computer. Go, Mother Earth!
As an artist I have yet to tap all the potential of this latest gadget for my professional needs. But I like that it's portable, easy to navigate, and even somewhat personalized. I can pick and use the apps I need. My only hope is that somehow Apple has figured out a way to allow the forecasted OS5 operating system (Fall 2011!) to be used by us fresh-off-the-presses iPad2 owners. As much as I love my new toy, there's no budget for another piece of hardware this year. There are financial constraints, despite the gadget-love. We all have "ceilings" to deal with.

My First QR Code
This is my first QR Code. I won't pretend to know any more than this. But do let me know if it works on your phone. And Thanks!

Last Minute Art Gifts
I know, why didn't I write this sooner? Just like you, I've been shopping. And we all have last minute gift emergencies that pop up. You know what I'm sayin'. Gert's little boy? Your creative cousin? The neighbor who likes to sing? Luckily, there's great stuff you can readily pick up and/or order on line. (I can attest that if Amazon.com says it can be delivered in one day, it can. Package arrived at noon today! Whew!) Anyway, some ideas:
Artist Clay
Theatre props and costumes
And of course you can ALWAYS buy them original artwork. Delivery might not make it for Christmas, but we can talk: http://www.annhaaland.com/
